Job Summary

Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, where you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management, while also engaging in public behavioral health education initiatives. We are looking for a dedicated professional who is passionate about helping others, possesses strong communication skills, and is committed to ongoing learning and development.


As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients, participate in emergency services, and contribute to program evaluation and grant applications. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring comprehensive follow-up care and supporting the development of our staff.


Essential Job Functions

  • Examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients with mental health and/or addiction medicine concerns.

  • Provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management services.

  • Participate in emergency services to offer rapid aid during emotional crises.

  • Ensure comprehensive follow-up care for all clients.

  • Join client staffing meetings to identify problems and establish treatment goals.

  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and staff development activities.

  • Support management needs, such as data collection and program evaluation.

  • Engage in public and community behavioral health education initiatives.

  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-up appointments in a timely manner.

  • Offer medical/psychiatric consultation to internal staff and external entities as requested.

  • Collaborate and provide support to assigned Nurse Practitioners, fellows, residents, and students.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatric and addiction medicine practices.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to patients, families, staff, and the public.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex documents and using an electronic health record system.

  • Ability to establish effective relationships via telephone, telemedicine, or in-person contact, consistent with a hybrid practice model.

  • Capable of working in a group practice, following directions, and accepting supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, and their families.

  • Passion for helping others and commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.


Experience and Education Qualifications

Required

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Completion of a residency program in psychiatry.

  • Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry or child and adolescent psychiatry.

  • Valid medical license to practice in the applicable state/province.
