Our small group practice provides counseling services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families with a variety of mental and behavioral health issues. We have multiple physical locations in Georgia and additionally offer telehealth to several states.

Position Summary

The Comfy Place is seeking to hire an associate-licensed or fully-licensed Child and Adolescent Therapist (LMFT, LAPC, LPC), and/or Social Worker (LMSW, LCSW) to provide individual and family counseling. The ideal therapist is someone who is interested in working as part of a small practice, who is passionate about helping and healing the community, who is culturally, ethnically, and racially sensitive, inclusive, and aware, and who ultimately wants to grow in a supportive team environment.

We are looking for a dedicated and self-driven clinician that loves working with children, teens, and young adults, and who is also a trauma-informed therapist with experience and specialization in working with marginalized and underserved populations The desire is to provide a private practice environment that allows you to see clients related to your passion and specialties.

Compensation is based on experience level and licensure status. We do offer structured increases as therapists progress in their attainment of licensure. Please note we are a W2- based practice so all clinicians are employees.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform client intakes
  • Assess clients to evaluate their state of mental health and ability to function in a real-world environment.
  • Manage client files (ie, add notes to patient records based on routine services, assessments, and evaluations, review progress notes in client files written by other members of the treatment team and review billing for assigned clients)
  • Create and manage client treatment plans and diagnoses
  • Resolve crises as needed
  • And function as part of a team determined to make a difference in the community

Minimum Qualifications

Education, License, and Experience

  • Completion of a Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one year of post-graduate experience.
  • Hold an active, provisional or terminal license in the state of Georgia (LMSW/LCSW, APC/LPC, LAMFT/LMFT).
  • Provisionally licensed therapists (LMSW, APC, LAMFT) will be considered only if they have advanced training in trauma and experience using it with clients.

Skills & Abilities

  • Individuals who are culturally, ethnically, and racially sensitive, inclusive, and aware.
  • Available for full-time work (25 minimum client sessions per week). All therapists start on a part-time basis and will be transitioned to full-time as their caseload grows.
  • Flexible availability and be able to work mornings, evenings, and weekend hours.
  • Available for providing services in person (at our Macon office).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be motivated, flexible, and have a team mentality.
  • Initiative to market therapy services to grow referral base and recognition in the community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with children, adolescents, and young adults, utilizing creative approaches, such as EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, DBT, play therapy, and/or other expressive therapies.

Pay: $35.00 - $48.00 per hour
