Job title: Assistant Teacher

Division/Department: Classroom Staff

Reports to: Admin Team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Commitment to Pine Pals mission and vision
● Knowledge and competency of MN Rule 3
● Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation
● Collaborate with other teachers, assistants and aides
● General Housekeeping duties within the classroom and shared spaces
● Modeling skills for aides
● Ability to obtain additional training hours as required by state licensing and Parent Aware programming
● Maintain a safe and comfortable environment
● Ability to communicate effectively with parents
● Address cultural or special needs
● Attend monthly staff meetings

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
● Enthusiastic, dedicated, and eager to learn with children
● Some education in child development preferred
● Work experience in child care, preschool, or elementary education setting
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- ability to express ideas and concerns to supervisor in a timely manner
● Introductory knowledge of Intergenerational Learning and Outdoor Learning
● Self-motivated
● Approachable, consistent and professional

Physical Requirements:
● Ability to frequently move through the facility
● Ability to lift children at times
● Ability to physically get down to a child’s level

Work Environment:
● Early education setting. Noise-level elevated at times throughout the day.
● Frequent needs for creative problem-solving.
● Maximum licensed capacity of 100 children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
