Child care Center Director

About the Role

Our consulting firm is hiring a Director for a 4 STAR rated Child Care Center located in the Tulsa suburb area. The Child Care center is family run and the owners are passionate about providing quality early childhood care to the community.

Need an experienced Director will lead daily operations, manage staff, ensure licensing compliance, support families, and maintain a safe, high-quality learning environment. We are looking for a person who is familiar with OK DHS, STAR and CACFP program requirements and guidelines. Should be adept at using Procare child care management software as well.

This role requires a true leader who is organized, confident, and deeply committed to early childhood education and understands what it takes to run a 5 STAR rated center.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teachers and support staff
  • Set performance goals and maintain staffing schedules
  • Provide coaching, classroom observations, and ongoing feedback

Program Quality & Child Development

  • Oversee curriculum implementation across all age groups
  • Support teachers with behavioral or developmental concerns
  • Ensure classrooms meet DHS standards and provide quality instruction

Family Engagement & Enrollment

  • Lead tours and communicate with prospective families
  • Meet with parents regularly regarding progress or concerns
  • Maintain strong relationships through consistent communication

Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate child, staff, and center records
  • Ensure full compliance with OKDHS licensing, safety, and sanitation requirements
  • Manage ordering and inventory for curriculum materials, supplies, and food
  • Enforce emergency procedures and staff certifications (CPR/First Aid)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in early childhood education and a CDA (teaching or administrative)
  • OK DHS Director qualifications
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
