Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership by developing and implementing curriculum plans that promote early childhood development and learning.
- Manage day-to-day center operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff through effective management practices, including conducting performance evaluations and facilitating professional development.
- Oversee budgeting processes, manage financial resources efficiently, and plan for long-term sustainability through strategic planning and fundraising efforts.
- Foster positive relationships with families by maintaining open communication, addressing concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming community atmosphere.
- Lead public speaking engagements to promote the center’s mission within the community and advocate for early childhood education initiatives.
- Coordinate classroom activities, supervise teaching staff with classroom experience requirements, and ensure an engaging environment that supports working with students of diverse backgrounds.
- Ensure timely response to inquiries, and effectively turn inquiries into enrollments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related education field is preferred. A combination of education and previous experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as the Director of a licensed childcare facility
- Must have and maintain an active Directors license issued by the State of Texas
- Knowledge and experience working with early childhood National and State accrediting agencies, specifically NAEYC and Texas Rising Star
- Proven experience in education administration or management within a child care or early childhood setting.
- Ability to communicate clearly through public speaking and foster positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements, health & safety protocols, and best practices in early childhood education.
