Responsibilities

• Plan and develop age-appropriate menus that align with nutritional standards and dietary restrictions
• Prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks efficiently while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
• Handle food with proper techniques to ensure quality, safety, and presentation
• Manage food inventory, monitor stock levels, and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies of children in care
• Follow all food handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent contamination or foodborne illnesses

Experience

• Prior experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within childcare or healthcare settings
• Proven background in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking for groups of children or similar populations
• Experience with fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous for understanding high-quality food presentation
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling techniques, and sanitation practices
• Skills in knife handling, meal preparation, catering services, and food service operations
• Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for kitchen management and culinary excellence
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
