Description

Hill City Sports Center is seeking dependable, caring, and energetic Child Care Staff members to support youth programming, including before and after school care, camps, and recreational childcare activities.

This role is responsible for supervising children, supporting daily routines, and helping create a safe, structured, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during before/after school care, camps, and youth programs

  • Ensure safety and maintain active supervision at all times
  • Lead and assist with age-appropriate activities, games, and enrichment
  • Support daily routines including arrival, snack, homework time, and dismissal
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Encourage positive behavior, participation, and social development
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and program leadership
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of program areas and supplies
  • Follow all facility policies and childcare procedures
  • Support behavior management using positive reinforcement techniques

Qualifications

  • Passion for working with children and youth

  • Responsible, patient, and dependable personality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow directions and maintain structure in group settings
  • Previous childcare, camp, coaching, or education experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, and school breaks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with school-age children (Pre-K through middle school)

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with group supervision and activity facilitation
  • Experience in childcare, recreation, or youth programs

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, move, and actively participate throughout the day

  • Ability to lift and carry light equipment as needed
  • Ability to supervise outdoor and indoor activities in various conditions
