Child Care Teacher

We are currently looking for qualified candidates to care for our children at Little Okie Academy. We need to fill this spot quickly so interviews will be scheduled as soon as possible. This is a very fun and energetic center and we need teachers who are also fun and energetic about teaching! This position will have a schedule of 8:30am-5:30pm or 7:00am-4:00pm with a 1 hour lunch break. Little Okie Academy's hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm. CPR/First Aid Certification is required but can be scheduled at a later date.

Teacher characteristics and job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Create lesson plans to help them learn and grow.

- Meet the physical and emotional needs along with ensuring that they are provided with a safe environment.

- Handle each child based on their individual personality and needs.

- Build curriculum based on differing needs of each child

- Introduce children to activities and toys aimed at physical and cognitive development

- Manage their social, emotional and physical needs

- Comfort when they are agitated

- Talk to children in order to facilitate relationship building

- Ensure that all toys provided are clean and safe

- Ensure that there is a constant supply of toys in each learning center

- Manage positive interaction activities targeted at providing stimulus, growth and development

- Maintain daily records and reports

- Prepare meals according to instructions provided by parents/school

- Feed children on a predefined schedule

- Maintain class routine

- Maintain daily records and reports

- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress or problems

- Observe and report any significant behavioral patterns to the parents

- Perform emergency procedures such as First Aid and CPR in the event of an emergency

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
