Child Care Teacher

About Us:
Little Lights a licensed childcare and early learning center committed to providing high-quality care and education in alignment with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations. We are seeking a dedicated Childcare teacher to join our team and support the growth and development of children ages infant–5 yrs old.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that meet children’s developmental, social, emotional, and academic needs.
• Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania DHS regulations and Keystone STARS quality standards.
• Supervise children to ensure health and safety at all times.
• Promote self-help skills, independence, and positive behavior management.
• Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental progress; communicate regularly with families.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Collaborate with coworkers and participate in staff meetings and required trainings.

Qualifications (per PA DHS regulations):
Candidates must meet one of the following:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field; OR
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; OR
• At least 2 years (2,500 hours) of experience working with children and 15 college credits in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current PA state clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI fingerprinting.
• Health assessment and TB test (per DHS requirements).
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
