We are looking for a Child Care Teacher (Floater) responsible for supporting multiple classrooms within the center by providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children of various age groups. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong understanding of early childhood development to ensure continuity of care and instruction throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum activities.
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Float between classrooms as needed to maintain proper staff-to-child ratios.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with licensing standards.
- Assist with meal times, diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines.
- Communicate effectively with staff and assist in maintaining a positive team environment.
- Help manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Follow all center policies, procedures, and state childcare licensing regulations.
- Step into lead roles temporarily when needed to ensure smooth classroom operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or relevant coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to different age groups and classroom environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background check and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods as required in a childcare setting.
