POSITION TITLE:
Child Nutrition Systems Administrator


JOB DESCRIPTION:


Provide support in the installation, configuration, and administration of all technology related systems that service the Child Nutrition Department. Perform technical work to install and maintain databases, servers, point-of-sale, security systems, telephones, network, and software applications.



DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Administer SQL Database.

  • Manage Child Nutrition software packages (MCS, Newton, Franklin, WinFSIM).

  • Manage domain of 500+ Microsoft based workstations.

  • Administer and maintain all Child Nutrition point-of-sale systems district wide.

  • Manage user accounts and groups and departmental data shares.

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive backup that meet retention guidelines.

  • Proficient with surveillance systems and cameras.

  • Support wired and wireless connections to the network.

  • Analyze technology life cycle to recommend upgrades and change management requirements.

  • Train Child Nutrition staff on necessary technology.

  • Ensure timely security and antivirus updates.

  • Maintain Department website using Rapid Web Design and HTML.

  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to office staff work schedule and hours.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience as a Systems/Database Administrator

  • Diagnosing technology issues and providing appropriate corrective action


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or 4 years of experience in a related field

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Database management
    • Web-based point-of-sale systems
    • Active Directory
    • Network technology
    • Surveillance security systems
  • Knowledge of server setup and administration
  • Experience working effectively with vendors
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups and to conduct training
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and the school community
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills combined with the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage projects and upgrades
  • Ability to manage system and software inventory

Frequent walking, lifting, climbing, and transporting of heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals up to 30 lbs.
