Case Manager - Child Support Division
Probationary Hourly Rate: $15.90
(180-365 day probationary period)
Post Probationary Hourly Rate: $16.85
Pay Range: $15.90-$23.28

External Applicants: Pay is negotiable based on like work experience and education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Interviews customers in office, by telephone or through email to determine services (e.g.: paternity, location, child & medical support establishment, modification or enforcement); completes child & medical support order establishment & enforcement, processes as mandated or instructed (e.g.: scheduling administrative hearings, refer cases to CSEA attorneys, complete interstate request); completes all necessary actions to enforce child & medical support orders (e.g.: send default letters to obligors & wage withholding orders to employers & other institutions, suspend licenses, place liens as allowed by law, perform financial institution data match withdrawals, review cases for possible IRS & ODT interception, seek work orders, refer cases to Prosecutor’s Office for criminal non-support, testify before grand jury & in court); reviews child & medical support orders for modification (e.g.: send review & adjustment requests to customers, examine request for valid reasons to review, send review & adjustment packets, send denial notices, review orders & complete the Ohio Supreme Court Guidelines, prepare findings & mail to parties, schedule & attend administrative hearings, prepare review packets & forward to the appropriate court for a final entry or schedule a court hearing); monitor cases for default & other needed action; enter, retrieve & maintain case-related information pertaining to actions taken on child support cases. (e.g.: enters & updates information into specified electronic program, review data for case-related information, enters information into the running record comments in SETS). Maintains confidentiality as specified by federal, state or local rules & laws. Attends staff meetings, training & conferences as assigned.
Computes support arrearages by interpreting support orders, reviewing payment & disbursement activity, calculating amounts owed & interviewing customers (e.g.: arrearages, participate in Mistake of Fact hearings as required, etc.) Prepares arrearage calculations for court hearings. Research payments & set up recoupment accounts. Assists by maintaining control & security of currency on premises (e.g.: prints cash batch reports, verification & reconciliation of daily receipts with batch report, approval of batches through state payments system as assigned by Ohio Child Support Payment Central, prepares deposits.) Maintains SARP tracking spreadsheet, monitor and maintain SCOJFS Financial mailbox, monitor SIV for suspense payments, monitor RTUL screen for payments on closed cases. Process incoming mail for CSEA.
Completes location of non-custodial parents (e.g.: send postal verifications, employment & medical insurance verifications, access location information as instructed through electronic or personal means (e.g.: property records, bank accounts, internet accounts, etc.) process alerts as generated); complete paternity establishment services (e.g.: schedule DNA testing, refer cases to CSEA legal department for judicial paternity establishment, complete interstate requests); schedule & attend hearings & court as assigned or subpoenaed; may testify in court.
Monitors case activity for compliance with Federal and State performance standards. Maintains statistical information used for the preparation of required reports. Maintains case records, hard copy & electronic as instructed. Attends meetings, conferences & training to receive information pertaining to departmental operations as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
All other duties as assigned by director or designee.
