Job Summary:
We are seeking an immediate, highly reliable, warm, and profoundly compassionate Interim On-Site Babysitter/Childcare Attendant. You will be responsible for providing safe, supervised, and nurturing care for the young children of our family residents during their parents' scheduled program hours. This is a critical support service that directly enables our residents to focus on their well-being.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Child Supervision & Engagement (Playful, Warm, Nurturing)
- Provide attentive, safe, and nurturing supervision for a small, consistent group of children within the designated on-site childcare area during scheduled program hours.
- Strictly adhere to a maximum Child-to-Attendant Ratio of 1:3 (one adult to three children) at all times to ensure personalized attention and safety.
- Care for children across a diverse age range, including infants (approximately 4 and 12 months) and a toddler/preschooler group (up to age 5).
- Facilitate and lead age-appropriate, positive, and quiet activities, such as reading, simple imaginative play, puzzles, and arts and crafts.
Safety & Basic Care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and thoroughly childproofed environment at all times, conducting regular safety checks.
- Actively monitor children for well-being and safety, and report any immediate issues to Tribalights staff according to established protocols.
- Strictly follow all established safety and administrative protocols, including mandatory, documented sign-in and sign-out procedures for parents.
- Assist with the basic, essential care needs of children, which may include bottle feeding or spoon-feeding, diapering/potty breaks, comforting, and ensuring naptime schedules are met.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with parents regarding their child's day (e.g., feeding, naps, general mood).
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Proven, extensive experience working with children, with specific and recent experience caring for infants and toddlers (ages 4 months to preschool).
- Character: A playful, warm, patient, and non-judgmental demeanor.
- Reliability: Demonstrated history of exceptional reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Integrity: Must be able to pass a comprehensive, federally compliant background check and maintain the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality.
- Judgment: Excellent on-the-spot judgment and decision-making skills in childcare and emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification in First Aid and CPR, specifically for infants and children.
- Education: Relevant early childhood education training or coursework.
Schedule & Duration
- This is an Interim/Temporary position with scheduled, part-time hours, designed to meet the immediate needs of our clinical programming.
Note: This interim role offers the successful attendant a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent position as our in-house childcare program expands.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
