Childcare Center Assistant/Floater

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom activities by assisting lead teachers with daily routines for children of different ages, including toddlers, younger and older preschoolers.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure safety and promote positive behavior management
  • Step into various classrooms or areas as needed to provide consistent coverage and support staff shortages or absences
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage development of social skills, motor skills, and early learning concepts
  • Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other caregiving duties following health and safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment by sanitizing toys, surfaces, and shared spaces regularly
  • Communicate effectively with parents and team members about children's progress and needs while maintaining confidentiality

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred (Toddlers through PreKindergarteners).
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Experience caring for toddlers, including diapering and feeding routines
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR, Food Handler's Permit, MERIT Portable Background Check required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating patience and adaptabi
