Duties

  • Assist classroom teachers by supervising children during activities, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Support different age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers by providing attentive care tailored to each developmental stage.
  • Help implement curriculum activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and early learning experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment by sanitizing toys, changing diapers, and tidying up supplies regularly.
  • Respond promptly to children’s needs with patience and compassion, providing comfort and reassurance as necessary.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when required.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's daily activities and progress.

Skills

  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying or babysitting roles.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR; experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members.
  • Familiarity with classroom management tools and caregiving routines for infants through preschoolers.
