Duties
- Assist classroom teachers by supervising children during activities, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
- Support different age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers by providing attentive care tailored to each developmental stage.
- Help implement curriculum activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and early learning experiences.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment by sanitizing toys, changing diapers, and tidying up supplies regularly.
- Respond promptly to children’s needs with patience and compassion, providing comfort and reassurance as necessary.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when required.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's daily activities and progress.
Skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying or babysitting roles.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR; experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members.
- Familiarity with classroom management tools and caregiving routines for infants through preschoolers.
