Childcare Director - Full Time (35-40 Hours)

Kind Hearts Learning Center is a childcare center located in Fall River and our newest location coming soon to Taunton, MA! We are a small company, with currently only 27 children at our Fall River location alone. We are looking for a take charge, Full Time (35-40 hours per week), Center Director. As the Center Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our childcare center while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the educational development, safety, and welfare of the children and staff.

In order to qualify for the position, you must meet state of MA requirements to be a center director (Director I or Director II).

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day to day operations of childcare center providing exceptional care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years
  • Ensuring adherence to all requirements of MA regulations.
  • Ensuring staff and parent adherence to all center policies and procedures outlined in Parent and Employee Handbooks
  • Creating a positive rapport with all staff members through daily interactions
  • Scheduling, supervising, observing, evaluating, and mentoring staff of approximately 4-5 employees
  • Arranging staff to ensure ratios are being met at all times - dismissing part-time staff when no longer needed
  • Approving/denying staff requests for time off and scheduling appropriate coverage
  • Receiving staff sick-calls and arranging emergency coverage
  • Conducting and documenting daily classroom observation logs to aid in compiling monthly classroom room meeting agendas
  • Planning and conducting with owners monthly staff room meetings and annual staff training workshop(s)
  • Assisting owners with recruiting, interviewing, hiring applicants and assisting in training new staff members
  • Completing initial and annual staff evaluation forms/meetings
  • Planning weekly academic calendar themes/topics of focus to create monthly classroom calendars
  • Approving and creating individual class monthly calendars
  • Approving individual class weekly lesson plans
  • Creating and/or ensuring the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms
  • Coordinating special events and fundraisers
  • Arranging and advertising continuing education opportunities for staff
  • Completing 20 hour of continuing education annually
  • Arranging and advertising public events with owners
  • Assisting owners with keeping craft supply inventory, janitorial/cleaning supply, consumables inventory and ordering supplies
  • Conducting facility tours
  • Creating a positive rapport with all parents through daily interactions
  • Emailing, or using our communication app, notifications to parents and maintaining regular correspondence
  • Addressing and documenting any concerns or incidents regarding children, parents, and/or staff
  • Arranging and supervising parent/teacher meetings and providing parents with guidance and resources when necessary
  • Reviewing and approving all forms to parents
  • Opening center or closing center at day's end.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the team.
  • Maintain staff records.
  • Maintain adequate child records.
  • Manage workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Ensure the safety of the team.
  • Communicate openly with owners, staff, parents.
  • Provide accurate and detailed status reports.
  • Any other duty assigned by owners.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
