Childcare Lead Teacher

Job Summary: In this full-time position with benefits, the Lead Teacher will work with teaching staff, pastors and church staff in overseeing the First Lutheran Church Childcare Program. Preference to a licensed teacher in education with previous experience and leadership skills. Job training to start upon hire.

Supervisor: Childcare Director and Senior Pastor

Responsibilities:

Overseeing assistant teachers, teacher’s aids and substitute teachers

Execute academic and Christian lesson plans as prepared by Childcare Director

Teaching and caring for students in either infant, toddler or preschool age group

Maintaining personal current license requirements

Required Skills:

1. Proven experience as a Childcare/Preschool Teacher

2. Certification in infant/child CPR & First Aid

3. Valid license to practice profession

Preferred Skills:

1. Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

2. Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

3. Excellent communication and instructional skills

4. Ability to act as mediator between children

5. Friendly and reliable

6. Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen

7. Bachelors or Associates Degree in education or relevant field

8. Experience with Develop and training already in progress or completed

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
