Position Overview

As an EmergiCrew Member (Emergency Childcare Provider), you will provide in-home childcare services for families experiencing urgent, same-day, or short-notice childcare needs.

Assignments are offered based on your availability, and you are always free to accept or decline opportunities — giving you flexibility and control over your schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, attentive, and nurturing care for children of various ages
  • Respond to same-day and short-notice childcare requests based on availability
  • Arrive on time and prepared, often with limited notice
  • Adapt quickly to different home environments and routines
  • Follow all parent instructions and Emergi-Kid-Care guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities
  • Communicate clearly with parents and the EKC team
  • Provide updates and check-ins when requested
  • Complete required visit documentation
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and calmness in urgent situations

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 1 year of childcare or caregiving experience
  • Reliable transportation
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Strong communication skills and dependability
  • Comfortable with short-notice assignments
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Passing TB screening
  • Ability to provide 3 professional references

Schedule

Flexible scheduling — you choose when you accept assignments.

Work Location

In-home childcare assignments throughout Delaware
Local travel required

QualificationsEducation

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • Childcare experience: 1 year preferred
  • Home care or caregiving experience: 1 year preferred

Certifications

  • CPR Certification required
  • First Aid Certification required

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel locally for assignments
  • Must maintain professionalism and reliability at all times
  • Must be comfortable working independently in family homes

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
