Children’s Animated Series Script Writer (Ages 3–8) – 24-Minute Episodes / 3D AI Animation

Job Summary

We are developing a series of children’s animated shows designed for ages 3–8, with each episode totaling 24 minutes. The series will feature positive educational lessons, emotional learning, imagination, and age-appropriate humor. Animation will be produced using a 3D AI-assisted animation pipeline.

We are seeking an experienced Children’s Script Writer who can help create characters, develop show bibles, write engaging storylines, and script full 24-minute episodes. This is a long-term project with multiple episodes planned.

Responsibilities

• Develop full Show Bible(s) including character backstories, personality traits, world building, and narrative tone.
• Write 24-minute episode scripts with clear structure, pacing, and age-appropriate language.
• Create simple, friendly dialogue suitable for young children ages 3–8.
• Incorporate positive educational or emotional lessons (sharing, kindness, cooperation, problem-solving, etc.).
• Work collaboratively with 3D/AI animators to ensure scripts translate smoothly to visual production.
• Assist with the development of new characters, supporting cast members, and recurring seasonal story arcs.
• Revise scripts based on team notes and feedback.

Qualifications

• Required: Previous experience writing for children’s television, animation, YouTube Kids, educational media, or similar.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, humor, and emotional development for ages 3–8.
• Ability to write warm, simple, rhythmic dialogue and clear scene direction.
• Portfolio or writing samples required (produced episodes strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with how scripts integrate into 3D or animated production workflows (you do not need to animate).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work under deadline.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience with educational curriculum development or SEL (Social & Emotional Learning).
• Familiarity with AI storyboard or animation tools (Runway Gen-3, Pika, Krea, Stable Video, Unreal Engine, etc.).
• Prior work on series development (multi-episode arcs).
