Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Dance Teacher to inspire young dancers and foster their love for movement and performance. This role involves developing engaging curricula, teaching dance techniques, and creating a positive learning environment for children of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a strong background in dance, and skills in classroom management and lesson planning. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate ballet, theater, and creative movement.
- Teach dance classes to children, ensuring lessons are engaging, educational, and fun.
- Manage classroom behavior to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to learning.
- Plan lessons that align with childhood development principles and support individual student needs.
- Incorporate various teaching methods including tutoring, storytelling, and visual aids to enhance student understanding.
- Utilize photography skills to document student progress and class activities for promotional or educational purposes.
- Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages self-expression, teamwork, and confidence among students.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities as needed.
- Maintain organized lesson plans and classroom materials to ensure smooth class operations.
- Support students’ emotional well-being through nurturing guidance and behavior management strategies.
Experience
- Prior experience in teaching dance or movement classes to children is highly preferred.
- Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in special education settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with various artistic disciplines such as theater or photography enhances instructional versatility.
- Previous experience in childcare or childhood development roles is beneficial.
- Skills in sewing or culinary arts are considered additional assets but are not required for this position. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about dance education and committed to nurturing the artistic talents of young learners in a supportive environment.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
