Business Description: The Intergenerational Literacy Program is an education nonprofit that helps families grow together through language and literacy. Based at the Welcome Center at Roberts Academy, ILP offers classes and activities that support parents and children in learning, connecting, and building confidence. We provide weekly English classes with childcare, conversation groups online and in person, one-on-one tutoring, and individual practice appointments. Families can also find resources to support early learning and communication between home and school.
Job Description: The Children’s Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a literacy-based after-school tutoring program and additional activities during the school year for students at Roberts Academy, a Pre-K to 8th Grade school in Cincinnati, OH. The program and activities are for students whose parents or family members participate in adult English language learning classes as well as for other students at Roberts Academy who are identified by the school as needing additional literacy tutoring through the lens of ESL/ family literacy support.
This role involves additional collaboration with the Roberts CLCI team and school administration, external partners, and volunteers. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring alignment of programs with the vision and goals of the Intergenerational Literacy Program, its parent organization Community Learning Center Institute (CLCI), and with Roberts Academy.
