Chiller Technician 1

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance
• Perform scheduled maintenance on chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and AHUs.
• Check oil levels, refrigerant levels, filters, belts, and electrical connections.
• Clean condenser and evaporator coils.
• Troubleshooting & Repair
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
• Identify refrigerant leaks and perform leak testing.
• Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, valves, sensors, and motors.
• System Monitoring
• Monitor chiller performance parameters such as:
• Chilled water temperature
• Condenser water temperature
• Pressure readings
• Current and voltage readings
• Ensure efficient system operation.
• Installation & Commissioning
• Assist in installing new chillers and HVAC equipment.
• Perform startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning activities.
• Safety Compliance
• Follow safety procedures and permit requirements.
• Handle refrigerants according to environmental regulations.
• Use PPE and comply with site safety standards.
• Documentation
• Maintain service reports and maintenance records.
• Record operating parameters and corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports for supervisors and clients.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Understanding of chilled water systems.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of control systems (BMS/DDC).
• Experience with troubleshooting centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

• FCUs (Fan Coil Units)
• Expansion tanks and pressurization units

Typical Daily Duties

• Inspect chiller plant operation.
• Record temperature and pressure readings.
• Respond to breakdown calls.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with facility management and clients.
• Ensure uninterrupted cooling system operation.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,500.00 per hour
