Key Responsibilities of an MEP Technician:

• Installation and Maintenance:Installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical (HVAC, etc.), electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings.
• Troubleshooting and Repair:Diagnosing and fixing issues with MEP systems, including electrical faults, plumbing leaks, and HVAC malfunctions.
• Routine Inspections:Conducting regular inspections of MEP equipment and systems to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
• Preventative Maintenance:Performing preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled to prevent system failures and extend the lifespan of equipment.
• Emergency Repairs:Responding to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
• Safety Compliance:Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaboration:Working with other technicians and facility management teams to address maintenance needs.
• Quality Control:Ensuring that all work meets quality standards and deadlines.
• Energy Efficiency:Identifying opportunities for energy conservation and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Following Instructions:Working from engineering plans and specifications to ensure proper installation and maintenance.
• Using Tools and Equipment:Utilizing various tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
• Communication:Communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding work progress and issues.
