Key Responsibilities of an MEP Technician:
- Installation and Maintenance:Installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical (HVAC, etc.), electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:Diagnosing and fixing issues with MEP systems, including electrical faults, plumbing leaks, and HVAC malfunctions.
- Routine Inspections:Conducting regular inspections of MEP equipment and systems to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance:Performing preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled to prevent system failures and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Emergency Repairs:Responding to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
- Safety Compliance:Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Collaboration:Working with other technicians and facility management teams to address maintenance needs.
- Quality Control:Ensuring that all work meets quality standards and deadlines.
- Energy Efficiency:Identifying opportunities for energy conservation and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Following Instructions:Working from engineering plans and specifications to ensure proper installation and maintenance.
