Chinese Language Learning Coach - Strong English Communication Skills

Role Overview
As a Chinese Language Learning Coach (MBE PLT), you’ll work directly with members of our MB community to help them stay accountable, motivated, and supported in reaching their Chinese fluency goals. This is not a translation or curriculum development role—it’s focused on coaching, guidance, and progress tracking.

Responsibilities
Member Coaching & Support
- Hold 1:1 or small group accountability sessions over Zoom.
- Provide guidance and suggestions tailored to each learner’s fluency level.
- Act as a coach, mentor, and motivator to help learners reach their goals.

Progress Tracking & Feedback
- Track member goals and progress through structured workflows.
- Offer actionable feedback on speaking fluency, pronunciation, and usage.
- Recommend MB or MBE lessons and tools based on learner challenges.

Internal Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with the MB team using tools like Slack and Intercom.
- Attend team check-ins and contribute feedback on program improvements.

Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Advance English proficiency with upper-intermediate to advanced Chinese (spoken + reading/literacy at B2 level or above).
- Coaching/Education Experience: Experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring especially language learners.
- Empathy & Communication: Deep understanding of the Chinese learning journey and ability to relate to learners.
- Remote Collaboration Skills: Familiarity with Zoom, Slack, and online tools for coaching and communication.

  • What is your fluency level in both spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English? Please include any relevant background in learning or using these languages.
  • Share your experience coaching or mentoring language learners. What approach do you take to help them improve?
  • Have you previously worked remotely using tools like Zoom and Slack? If yes, describe your comfort level with virtual collaboration.
  • Imagine a student says they feel stuck and unmotivated in their Chinese learning. How would you help them get back on track?

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $10.00 - $35.00 per hour
