Chinese Toddler Assistant Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a Chinese‑speaking Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is nurturing, reliable, and able to support both the Lead Teacher and the children in creating a calm, orderly, developmentally appropriate Montessori environment. This role includes supporting Chinese language immersion through conversation, songs, stories, and daily routines.

This position begins in June 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start depending on the needs of the classroom and the candidate’s availability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Toddler Teacher in maintaining a peaceful, child‑centered Montessori environment
  • Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication at all times
  • Engage children in Mandarin Chinese through conversation, songs, stories, and daily routines
  • Assist with classroom preparation, materials rotation, and maintaining cleanliness and order
  • Observe children and support their independence, toileting, and practical life skills
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and administrators
  • Follow all licensing, safety, and school policies
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
  • Collaborate with the Chinese Curriculum Coordinator to support cultural and language alignment

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (required)
  • Experience working with toddlers in a school or childcare setting
  • Warm, patient, and consistent approach with young children
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn Montessori principles (training provided)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in active work with toddlers

Preferred but not required:

  • Montessori Assistant training (AMI/AMS/MACTE)
  • Experience in a bilingual or immersion program
  • Familiarity with Montessori philosophy

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full‑time, Monday–Friday
  • Competitive pay based on experience and training
