Chip-Level Laptop Hardware Engineer

A chip-level laptop engineer diagnoses, tests, and repairs faults at the component level on a laptop's motherboard, requiring expertise in circuit schematics, soldering, and using specialized tools to fix issues with chips and integrated circuits (ICs). This role demands a deep understanding of laptop architecture, component functions like power sequences and signal flows, and the use of diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.

Key responsibilities:

Diagnosis:

  • Identifying faults in laptop motherboards by examining signals and component behaviors.

Component-Level Repair:

  • Replacing or repairing specific faulty components, including ICs and other elements on the motherboard.

Schematic Analysis:

  • Reading and interpreting complex circuit diagrams and board schematics.

Tool Proficiency:

  • Utilizing advanced diagnostic tools like digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and debug cards.

Soldering and Desoldering:

  • Applying precise soldering and desoldering techniques to handle delicate electronic components.

Required knowledge and skills:

Laptop Architecture:

  • Understanding of motherboard architecture, power sequencing, and various chip functions (e.g., CPU, PCH, SIO).

Electronics:

  • Knowledge of electronic components, circuit theory, and signal flow within a laptop.

Problem-Solving:

  • A systematic approach to fault finding and troubleshooting various hardware issues.

Technical Dexterity:

  • The ability to handle small components and perform intricate repair work with precision.

Communication:

  • Conveying technical information clearly to clients or team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
