Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Chiropractic Assistant/Receptionist, where your energetic and detail-oriented approach will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support. In this multifaceted position, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. Your expertise in medical administrative tasks combined with your passion for patient service will help create a positive, efficient environment that promotes health and well-being for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance coverage, and facilitate smooth check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to optimize clinic flow.
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing information and directing calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance verifications, and assist with billing processes including medical collection procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review.
- Assist with intake procedures, updating patient information, and preparing documentation for provider review.
- Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining office supplies inventory.
- Utilize dental terminology and medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) to support accurate billing and documentation when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on care plans and ensure all documentation aligns with medical office management standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; proficiency in Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Proven ability to handle insurance verification processes efficiently within Medicare or other insurance programs.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), multi-line phone systems, and health information management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with healthcare workflows and dental terminology.
- Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records.
