Christian Secondary Teacher - Bible and Math

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Christian Teacher to inspire and educate secondary students in both Bible and Math disciplines. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster spiritual growth while cultivating strong mathematical skills in a dynamic classroom environment. Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that integrate biblical principles with math concepts, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards
  • Deliver instruction across a range of topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete mathematics, tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Incorporate learning technology and digital resources to enhance classroom engagement and understanding
  • Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, standardized assessments, and project work; provide constructive feedback
  • Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
  • Mentor students academically and spiritually, supporting their personal growth and faith journey
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in school activities such as chapel services, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development workshops
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations
  • Support students requiring additional academic or behavioral support

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mathematics including grade 6 math, grade 7 math, pre-algebra and algebra, and geometry
  • Expertise in biblical studies with the ability to integrate faith-based perspectives into lesson plans
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design tailored for secondary education levels
  • Proficiency with learning technology tools such as interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online learning platforms
  • Excellent classroom management skills to create an engaging and disciplined learning environment
  • Effective communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and administration
  • Proven ability to develop lesson plans aligned with educational standards while fostering critical thinking skills
  • Experience in tutoring for diverse student populations
  • Strong mentoring abilities to support student spiritual growth alongside academic achievement
  • Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and educational administration principles
