Church Sexton/Janitor

Duties

• Perform comprehensive cleaning of church interiors, including floors, pews, restrooms, offices, and common areas, ensuring an inviting atmosphere.
• Conduct routine custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces to uphold health standards.
• Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, stripping, sealing, and other floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and safety.
• Handle light maintenance responsibilities including minor repairs, painting touch-ups replacing light bulbs, test life safety systems
• Snow removal from sidewalks and steps
• Law care including mowing, trimming, weeding, litter removal, watering, seasonal maintenance
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as setting up chairs, tables, or equipment for services or community events.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are well-stocked, organized, and properly maintained for ongoing use.

Skills and Abilities

• Be reliable, self-directed, attentive to detail
• Be able to lift 50 lbs
• Excellent organizational skills to manage supplies and prioritize daily tasks efficiently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
