Our cinema is a core part of this mission, and we’re looking for a Cinema Host who is both customer-focused and digitally savvy to join our team.
Position Summary
The Cinema Host is a front-line role responsible for delivering excellent guest experiences while supporting daily operations, concessions, and events. This position also contributes to digital engagement efforts, including social media and basic web updates.
This role reports to the Cinema Director and works closely with the broader CCA team.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Front-of-House
- Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming, inclusive environment
- Answer phones, manage voicemail, and respond to inquiries
- Provide accurate information about films, events, and programs
- Process ticket and concession sales using a POS system
- Open/close register and complete end-of-shift reports
- Maintain organized, clean, and professional lobby and box office areas
Concessions & Inventory
- Prepare and serve concessions following food safety standards
- Restock and organize concession inventory
- Track inventory and notify management of supply needs
Facilities & Operations
- Clean and reset theater between screenings
- Maintain cleanliness of lobby, theater, and restrooms
- Take out trash and recycling
- Ensure all areas are safe, clean, and guest-ready at all times
Events Support
- Assist with special events, screenings, and rentals
- Provide basic A/V support as needed
- Help ensure smooth event execution
Digital & Marketing Support
- Assist with social media posting and engagement on Instagram and Facebook
- Support website updates via WordPress
- Help create and send email communications using Constant Contact
- Maintain consistency with CCA’s voice and branding across platforms
- Track basic engagement metrics or assist with digital outreach efforts
Qualifications
- 1+ year of customer service, hospitality, retail, or similar experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized
- Basic tech proficiency (POS systems, email, spreadsheets)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Interest in film, arts, or community programming
- Experience with:
- Instagram & Facebook (posting, stories, engagement)
- WordPress (basic updates)
- Constant Contact or similar email platforms
- General web-based tools and digital platforms
- Spanish language proficiency a plus
Schedule & Availability
- 3–4 shifts per week (6–8 hours each)
- Must be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- CCA operates every day, days per year except federal holidays
