Job Purpose
The Cisco Network Expert shall be responsible for designing, operating, monitoring, securing, and optimizing the Client network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance for mission-critical systems and Services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Operations & Support
- Operate, monitor, and support the Client enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks.
- Ensure 24×7 availability and performance of network services supporting the platform.
- Perform proactive monitoring, fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
- Support network connectivity for core financial systems, eServices, integrations, and secure external access.
2. Cisco Infrastructure Management
- Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Implement and maintain VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), QoS, NAT, and load balancing.
- Support Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASA/Firepower, and Wireless solutions as applicable.
3. Network Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, IPS/IDS, and segmentation.
- Ensure alignment with Government cybersecurity policies, standards, and security guidelines.
- Support secure connectivity for internal users, external stakeholders, and inter-government integrations.
- Assist in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response related to network infrastructure.
4. Data Center & Cloud Connectivity
- Support data center networking, including redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery connectivity.
- Manage secure connectivity between on-premise infrastructure and cloud platforms, if applicable.
- Ensure resilience and failover mechanisms for critical services.
5. Change, Configuration & Documentation
- Execute network changes in line with change management and IT governance processes.
- Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Provide input to network architecture improvements and modernization initiatives.
6. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Work closely with IT teams, system integrators, cybersecurity teams, and service providers.
- Coordinate with Cisco and third-party vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and support escalations.
- Support MOF during platform upgrades, major releases, and planned maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
Certifications
- CCNP (Enterprise or Security)
- CCIE (Enterprise or Security)
- Cisco Security certifications (Firepower, VPN, ISE) – Advantage
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network operations.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical government or financial systems.
- Experience working in regulated environments with strong security and availability requirements.
Technical Skills
- Cisco Routing & Switching (Enterprise-grade)
