Position Available: Laborer Craft Instructor

The Construction Industry Training Council (CITC) is actively seeking experienced construction professionals interested in teaching Laborer apprenticeship courses from our Marysville location. This position focuses on comprehensive laborer training across Levels 1 through 3 including construction safety, trade math, construction drawings, rigging, material handling, concrete practices, equipment operation, elevated work practices, excavation safety, underground utility installation, civil construction, trench safety, work-zone traffic control, crew leadership, and jobsite communication practices used across commercial, civil, and infrastructure construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least three years of on-the-job experience in a Journey-level position in the trade
  • Strong working knowledge of general construction practices, civil construction operations, and jobsite safety procedures
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong recommendation from an employer or CITC faculty
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and adaptable
  • Ability to create a respectful and engaging learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Use CITC training materials to instruct courses following CITC and Washington State mandated rules and policies
  • Prepare for and teach all required materials for contracted time including class and lab activities
  • Encourage student participation and discussion
  • Assigning, reviewing and grading in-class exams
  • Promptly submit all course paperwork, tests and evaluations
  • Attend instructor meetings and training meetings
  • Support student growth and workforce readiness
