JOB
Prosecutes C misdemeanor cases in the City of Rosenberg Municipal Court and upholds local ordinances and state laws, ensuring fair and efficient administration of justice. The City Prosecutor works under the supervision of the City Attorney and collaborates closely with law enforcement, court personnel and city officials.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Prosecutes all complaints for violations of Rosenberg’s municipal code, traffic laws and various Class C MisdemeanorsReview police reports, citations and complaints for legal sufficiencyPrepare and present cases for arraignments, pre-trial hearings, trials and appealsPrepares for litigation including research, drafting petitions, answering motions, filing documents, participating in discovery and appearing in courtNegotiate plea agreements and recommend sentencing consistent with city policy and legal standardsResponds to questions from assigned departments concerning legal issuesDrafts and reviews a variety of legal related correspondence and maintains accurate case files and documentationResponds to public inquiries about code matters and other legal issuesPerforms other duties as assigned
