All About the Job
Family Concierge is partnering with a progressive, down-to-earth physician family in Rochester's Browncroft neighborhood to hire a Full-Time Nanny for their 3-year-old son and infant daughter. The role centers on engaged, screen-free care for two children at very different stages: a highly verbal, high-energy three-year-old and a sweet baby girl who is discovering the world around her.

Days will follow a settled cadence. With the older child in pre-K mornings (roughly 9 a.m. to noon), the nanny has one-on-one mornings with the baby and half-days with both children after pick-up. The home is well-appointed for at-home activities with a fenced backyard and multiple play areas stocked with books, games, art supplies, and developmentally-appropriate toys.

The family’s ideal match is someone who feels confident following the children’s lead, balancing engaging at-home play days as well as outings throughout the City of Rochester: familiarity with the best playgrounds and parks, visits to the Strong Museum of Play, Rochester Museum and Science Center, Memorial Art Gallery; and neighborhood outings on Park Ave, East Ave, and Neighborhood of the Arts are encouraged.

The mother works remotely from a dedicated home office that keeps her workday fully self-contained and out of the way throughout the day; the father is an attending physician whose hospital rotation varies each week. Because his schedule is set at least two months in advance, the nanny will always know when they are working. Extended family is local and involved, the household has a friendly yellow Labrador who is great with everyone, and the role comes with use of a family vehicle for child-related driving. This is a childcare-focused position with light, child-related kitchen and home support, designed for someone who is looking for their next great family with long-term focus.

What You'll Do

Lead engaged, screen-light days across both children's stages, with a settled routine for naps, meals, snacks, and outdoor time

Run pre-K drop-off and pick-up for the older child at his preschool program located in Downtown Rochester

Plan weekly outings the children will love across the city and nearby child-friendly attractions, playgrounds, and parks

Ensure both children’s diapering and toileting needs are met promptly

Engage in age-appropriate developmental at-home play that meets each child where they are: language-rich reading and pretend play for the baby, project-and-machine play for the older boy

Drive a family-provided vehicle for outings, pre-K runs, and the occasional appointment
Proactively lead child-related light housework and tidying, such as laundry and meal prep

Communicate clearly and concisely with both parents through the day

Who We're Looking For
You are an experienced career nanny with comfortable command of both infant care and active-toddler/preschooler care, and you genuinely enjoy the work of running a real day with two children at different stages. You know how to keep a baby's routine steady while simultaneously entertaining a curious three-year-old. You are comfortable navigating the City of Rochester's neighborhoods, parks, and museums, and you bring ideas to the day rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Beyond the experience, the right fit brings:

At least 3+ years of private nannying experience, with specialized infant and preschool-aged children

A self-directed, organized presence, familiar with WFH/physician parents and the unique scheduling needs that come with a hospital attending’s schedule

Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to take initiative without lots of hands-on supervision as they become more assimilated in the role

Confident driving skills and a clean driving record (family vehicle provided for child-related trips)

A creative streak: cooking, art, music, or outdoor project play, paired with an instinct for mindful, calm transitions

Comfort in a dog-friendly home (a friendly yellow Lab)

Pediatric and Infant CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Authorization to work in the U.S. and a sincere intention to make a long-term commitment to the family

Why You'll Love This Job
This family is offering an above-average compensation and benefits package paired with trust, autonomy, and confidence in your ability to take the lead. They are progressive, communicative, and emotionally intelligent. The children live in a gorgeous, verdant neighborhood of the city that is often overlooked. A family vehicle is provided for the work day, so your own car stays out of the mileage. You will be working with two children at engaging ages, with real autonomy, in a household that treats the nanny as a long-term partner in care.
