Civil Construction Project Manager

Janicki General Contracting (JGC) is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to lead civil construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in earthwork, utilities, roadway improvements, and site development who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality results.

What You'll Do

Project Leadership & Management

  • Manage civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Coordinate project resources, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Partner with Superintendents to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, delays, and budget impacts.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, forecasts, and cost analyses.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Prepare RFIs, change orders, schedules, as-builts, and project documentation.
  • Ensure contract compliance and successful project delivery.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce JGC's safety culture.
  • Coordinate safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain required certifications and training for project teams.

Team Development

  • Support hiring, performance reviews, promotions, and coaching of team members.
  • Mentor field and office personnel to achieve project and career goals.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional growth throughout project teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of project management experience.
  • Experience managing:
  • Earthwork
  • Road improvements
  • Underground utilities
  • Site development projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
  • CCM (Certified Construction Manager) Certification.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
  • Regular project site visits required.
  • Occasional nights, weekends, and overtime may be necessary based on project demands.
  • Participation in company-sponsored events and activities encouraged.
