Today, we are recruiting for Civil Design Engineer (Mobile Telecommunication Network Layout Site Design) to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

• Develop comprehensive site layout designs for mobile telecommunication base station sites based on survey reports and project specifications.
• Prepare detailed drawing packages for approximately 68 base station sites, including towers, shelters, access roads, and utility connections.
• Integrate structural designs for telecom towers and foundations provided by consortium partners into complete site layout drawings.
• Design antenna installation layouts, specifying antenna types, mounting structures, heights, tilt angles, and positions.
• Plan installation layouts for radio units and other RF communication equipment.
• Develop cable routing diagrams for coaxial, fiber optic, and power cables for both indoor and outdoor installations.
• Design electrical and power supply layouts including grid connections, backup systems, grounding, and electrical panels.
• Ensure proper cable management and infrastructure protection in accordance with engineering standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, construction partners, and consortium stakeholders to ensure design alignment.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian regulations and international telecommunication and railway standards.
• Incorporate safety requirements including lightning protection, grounding systems, and fall-arrest systems into all site designs.
  
  

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• You have solid experience in site layout design for mobile communication basestations such as GSM, LTE, or 5G networks.
• You demonstrate strong proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed civil, electrical, and telecommunication engineering drawings.
• You have experience designing telecom infrastructure including towers or masts, antennas, RF equipment, and cable management systems.
• You understand electrical systems used in telecom sites including power supply, grounding, and backup systems.
• You are able to interpret and integrate structural drawings such as tower and foundation designs into comprehensive design packages.
• You have 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in telecommunication infrastructure or engineering design.
• You communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• You demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• You have experience designing foundations for telecom towers or equipment shelters is highly advantageous.
• You are capable of producing As-Built drawings based on construction markups is a plus.
• You have experience working on telecommunication network infrastructure or large-scale railway / transportation infrastructure projects is highly preferably.
• You are familiar with railway communication standards such as GSM-R or IRENE specifications is a plus.
