Job Title: Civil Design Engineer (Substations and OHL up to 400kV)

Requirement – 1 No.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: 7+ years of civil design experience in an EPC environment, specifically working on utility, substation, or transmission line projects up to the 400kV level.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of standard civil/structural design practices for heavy EHV equipment foundations and concrete structures. Familiarity with local utility standards is highly preferred.
• Software: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and AutoCAD.
• Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to coordinate seamlessly with electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Substation & Building Design:

• Design and detail substation buildings, including up to 400kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) rooms and Control & Relay buildings.
• Plan functional building layouts, including cable basements and open-to-air cable cellars for routing control and power cables safely.
• Ensure the architectural appearance of all buildings and boundary walls blends well with the surrounding environment and meets local authority guidelines.
• Design robust foundations for heavy EHV electrical equipment up to 400kV, such as large power transformers, shunt reactors, and structural gantries.
• Engineer site layouts, including extending internal access roads, grading, fencing, and relocating existing underground facilities like soakaways.
• Design foundations for up to 400kV steel lattice overhead transmission towers and outdoor terminal compounds.
• Design underground networks, including unfilled concrete troughs and trenches for up to 400kV high-voltage power cables.
• Work alongside MEP and Fire Protection teams to design structural firewalls for transformers and remote underground oil containment tanks.
• Provide civil accommodations for mechanical systems, such as deluge trenches, pipe crossings, and pedestals for fire-fighting pipe supports.

Vendor Coordination & Documentation:

• Review and assess vendor drawings, technical submittals, and equipment manuals to ensure they strictly align with the project's design intent and utility specifications.
• Coordinate technical clarifications directly with relay and equipment manufacturers to resolve design discrepancies before manufacturing and delivery.
