Job Title: Civil Designer

Position Overview

J&K General Contractor, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Designer to support our in-house engineering and construction teams by preparing civil/site design plans for development projects.

The Civil Designer will create civil engineering drawings and designs for subdivisions, grading, utilities, and site development projects. This position works under the supervision of licensed engineers as needed and does not require a professional engineering license.

Location: Raeford, NC, Onsite

Employment: Full-time

Proposed Salary: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 annually

Key Responsibilities

• Produce civil/site design drawings, including subdivision layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and drainage systems
• Prepare plans using CAD software, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Assist with calculations for grading, drainage, and utility design
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and construction teams
• Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and company requirements
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback, field conditions, or client requests
• Support construction teams with plan interpretation and technical guidance

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or related work
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and land development processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in general contracting or construction-related design
• Familiarity with permitting processes and municipal standards
• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification a plus but not required
