Efficiently prepare engineering plans under the direct supervision of a professional engineer with applicable laws, regulations, or standards.
Perform design activities including grading, culvert/storm drain, inlet calculations, dry utilities, etc.
Prepare feasibility studies including site investigations under the direction of a Professional Engineer.
Oversee and review the work of junior designers, drafters and interns to ensure adherence to applicable CAD and design standards.
Provide technical assistance to subordinates. Training/teaching others by identifying educational needs, training team members and communicating training needs to management.
Provide quality control reviews prior to submitting plans to the engineer.
Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. Also be able to efficiently check quantities and cost estimates prepared by others.
Correlate, interpret and modify survey data obtained from topographical surveys and aerial images into standardized base and sheet files. (i.e. import survey data, convert to AutoCAD, verify coordinate systems, supervise levelization).
Prepare job specifications and contract documents.
Research local municipal, state and federal requirements and design guidelines.
Assist project managers to help ensure projects run smoothly and are completed on time and within budget.
Assist projects manager with budgeting and maintaining project schedules and deadlines.

Skills & Qualifications
Applicant must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, subordinates, clients, other consultants, municipalities, etc.
Self-motivated and deadline sensitive with a can-do attitude. Strong time-management skills.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
