Civil Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION – CIVIL ENGINEER

1. Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

2. Conduct site investigations/surveys and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)

3. Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

4. Forecasting design and construction timeline

5. Assess potential risks, materials and costs

6. Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies

7. Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders

8. Handle over the resulting structures and services for use

9. Monitor progress and compile reports in project status

10. Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials

11. Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required throughout the design and construction stages.

12. Managing repair and maintenance of infrastructure projects

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS – MECHANICAL ENGINEER

1. A degree in Civil Engineering; MSc is a plus

2. Proven working experience in civil engineering

3. Hands-on experience using design and calculation software

4. Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations

5. Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers

6. Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals and design documentation

7. Problem-solving abilities and ability to supervise helpers

8. Focus and concentration to understand complex mechanical systems

9. Self-motivation to keep up with current mechanical advances using new technologies

10. Using industry-specific tools to analyze and test mechanical equipment and components

11. Time-management skills for meeting deadlines

12. Understanding of mechanical engineering codes and safety standards

13. Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.

14. Project management and supervision skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
