Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at a leading electrical contracting company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the civil and structural aspects of our electrical projects, including the construction of foundations for electrical equipment, cable trenches, and substation buildings. You will work closely with our electrical engineering and project management teams to ensure that all civil works are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Design:
• Develop detailed civil engineering designs and plans for electrical projects, including substations, transmission line foundations, and underground cable routes.
• Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
• Conduct site investigations and surveys to assess project feasibility and identify potential challenges.
• Construction and Site Management:
• Supervise and manage all on-site civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports for project managers.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that all civil works meet the required standards.
• Technical and Administrative Duties:
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for civil works.
• Ensure all necessary permits and approvals for civil works are obtained from relevant authorities.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings and site records.
• Resolve any technical issues or challenges that may arise during the construction phase.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience: A minimum of 0-1 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, preferably within the electrical contracting or power construction industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
• Experience with the design and construction of foundations, reinforced concrete structures, and underground utilities.
• Familiarity with electrical infrastructure projects is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills:

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.

• Language: Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
