Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction projects while ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Duties
- Develop project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion of civil engineering projects.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation for drafting and design purposes.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather data for project development.
- Prepare construction estimates and budgets, ensuring accuracy in cost projections.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively through project management techniques.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to create schematics and technical drawings.
- Perform construction inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Apply knowledge of GIS technologies for mapping and spatial analysis related to projects.
- Engage in technical writing to produce clear documentation of project specifications, reports, and proposals.
- Address any geotechnical engineering concerns related to soil stability and site conditions.
- Oversee water treatment, wastewater treatment, and hydraulic systems design as necessary for projects.
- Utilize Mathcad for calculations related to engineering designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D is essential.
- Experience with construction management practices and principles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques is beneficial.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is an asset.
- Understanding of hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS or SWMM is advantageous.
- Experience with land surveying techniques will be considered a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
