The Civil Engineer (Pharmaceuticals) is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of plant infrastructure. This includes cleanrooms, laboratories, warehouse facilities, and wastewater treatment plants. The role ensures that all structures support sterile manufacturing processes and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Design & Expansion: Lead the structural design and modification of production blocks, ensuring they meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements (e.g., coved wall-to-floor joints, non-porous surfaces).
- Project Management: Oversee end-to-end construction projects, from budgeting and vendor selection to site supervision and final handover.
- Cleanroom Integrity: Ensure the structural integrity of HVAC plenums and cleanroom partitions to prevent cross-contamination.
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, ensuring that building materials and layouts comply with pharmaceutical safety standards.
- Maintenance & Retrofitting: Manage the upkeep of drainage systems, chemical storage areas, and effluent treatment plants (ETP) to handle industrial waste safely.
- Safety & Sustainability: Implement EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) protocols on-site to prevent accidents during construction or repair phases.
