Civil Engineer is responsible for the structural integrity, safety, and execution of all civil and structural works within Dubai Miracle Garden. Given the unique, seasonal, and highly creative nature of the park, this role requires a dynamic engineer capable of overseeing the rapid construction, maintenance, and dismantling of large-scale, custom floral support structures (steel, wood, and fiberglass) while ensuring all public infrastructure safely accommodates high volumes of daily visitors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Structural & Installation Engineering
Lead the civil execution of bespoke, large-scale floral structures (e.g., castles, arches, 3D models, and the Emirates A380 display).
Collaborate closely with the internal fiberglass department, creative designers, and agricultural teams to ensure structural frameworks can safely support the immense weight of wet soil, flora, and integrated irrigation systems.
Conduct structural load calculations and safety assessments for both temporary (seasonal) and permanent installations.
2. Seasonal Project Management (Turnaround)
Manage the aggressive, time-sensitive project lifecycles during the off-season (summer revamp), ensuring all structural dismantling, redesign, and new construction are completed safely before the winter reopening.
Develop agile project schedules, allocate manpower efficiently, and manage daily site progress to meet strict launch deadlines.
3. Infrastructure & Facility Maintenance
Supervise the maintenance and upgrading of all park infrastructure, including pedestrian walkways, retaining walls, seating areas, water features, and drainage networks.
Ensure all pathways and public areas are designed and maintained to handle extremely high tourist footfall safely and comfortably.
Coordinate with MEP and irrigation engineers to ensure civil works do not disrupt critical utility and watering networks.
4. Contractor & Resource Management
Supervise internal civil teams and external sub-contractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications.
Manage the procurement of civil and structural materials, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising safety or aesthetic standards.
5. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
Ensure all structures and civil works strictly comply with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, and international safety regulations.
Implement rigorous health and safety protocols on-site, particularly during heavy lifting, steel fabrication, and high-elevation work.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. Must hold a valid Dubai Municipality (DM) Engineer approval/Society of Engineers UAE membership.
Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of civil engineering experience in the UAE.
Industry Preference: Background in theme parks, large-scale exhibitions (e.g., Global Village, Expo), event setups, or highly customized structural landscaping is strongly preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in steel structures, scaffolding, and load-bearing assessments. Familiarity with fiberglass integration is a significant advantage.
Core Competencies & Skills
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS).
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to thrive under the pressure of strict seasonal deadlines.
Strong collaborative skills to work seamlessly with agricultural and creative teams.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to out-of-the-box, unconventional engineering requests.
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
Work Location: On the road
