Civil Design Consultants, Inc. (CDCI) is a professional civil engineering company with offices located in Andover, MA and Plaistow, NH. We provide land surveying, land planning, design, and permitting services to the real estate development community throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. We are seeking an experienced civil engineer to serve as a strong technical producer on our site development team. The ideal candidate is a proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D user who can independently take site development projects from concept through permitting and construction documents, with a working knowledge of MADEP and NHDES stormwater regulations. This role is heavy on production and design — client interaction and project coordination duties are present and will grow with experience.
Primary Duties:
- Preparation of site development plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D. A thorough understanding of the core Civil 3D utilities — including styles, labels, surfaces, parcels, alignments, profiles, corridors, and sections — and the ability to use these utilities to independently produce site development plans.
- Preparation of stormwater drainage designs to comply with MADEP and NHDES stormwater regulations, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HydroCAD.
- Preparation of grading, utility, and erosion control designs.
- Preparation of permit application materials and supporting documentation for local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
Secondary Duties:
- General office management and coordination, including coordination with surveyors, landscape architects, environmental consultants, and other sub-consultants.
- Attending client meetings and local land use board hearings (Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission) in support of project managers.
- Mentoring entry-level engineering staff and reviewing their work product.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience performing similar duties.
- EIT certification required; PE licensure (MA and/or NH) preferred, or actively progressing toward it.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including the core utilities listed above.
- Demonstrated proficiency in HydroCAD and a working knowledge of MADEP and NHDES stormwater regulations.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
