Job Purpose:
The Civil Engineer (Contractual & Tendering) is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing contractual documentation, tender submissions, cost estimations, and bid proposals for civil engineering and construction projects. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, commercial requirements, and legal standards while supporting project execution through effective contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents (drawings, specifications, BOQ, scope of work) and identify project requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, rate analysis, and quantity take-offs for civil works.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Prepare technical and commercial bid submissions in compliance with client requirements.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and planning teams during tender preparation.
- Assist in negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers for competitive pricing.
- Draft, review, and finalize contractual agreements in line with UAE Civil Code, or other relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support project teams in claims preparation, variation orders, and contract administration.
- Maintain proper documentation of all contract correspondences, agreements, and amendments.
- Support project execution teams in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
- Provide contractual advice and guidance to project managers and site teams.
- Assist in dispute resolution and claims management when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in contracts, tendering, or estimation in construction/civil engineering projects (GCC/UAE experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimating software (e.g., CCS, Candy, Primavera).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and tendering procedures.
