Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Quantity take-off & estimation
Subcontract management & negotiation
Preparation of Subcontractors payments.
Knowledge of building and construction in planning and costing
Experience in preparing estimates and costs of the work, and when the project is in progress, keeping track of any variations to the contract that may affect
Experience in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
To be thorough and pay attention to detail
Knowledge of building and construction in planning and costing

Key Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline (Construction Management or similar).
*MRICS certified, added advantage
*Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
*Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Pre Tender:

Estimation (Quantity Take off + Pricing)
Revision of Quotations based on requested changes.
2. Post Contract:

Preparation of RFQs, comparison after review of quotations.
Expert in Subcontract Management & negotiation
Preparation of Variations documents & presentation to Consultant for approval
Coordinate with Consultant/Client Engineers and ensure due payment certifications for smooth cash-flow in the project
Expert in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
Final Closure of projects i.e compilation of payments, variations and similar items.
Experienced in Change management, Cost Management & Budget Control
Junior QS

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
*Overall 3 years’ experience with minimum 1 year in UAE;
* Municipality accredited added advantage

Previous experience MUST
* Previous experience as Junior Quantity Surveyor a must

Key Requirements:
*University degree in Civil Engineering
*Age: 24-32 years

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and checking the BOQ at the starting of the work
Basic knowledge of Civil engineering practices
Should be able to read and understanding drawings and able to visualise in 3D from 2D drawings
Keep track of materials cost sheets, budgets and project status
Regularly check project progress and liaise with sub-contractors/supplier to determine their requirements
Assist the QS to prepare financial documents, cost estimates and budgets to track costs during & post construction period till closure
