Civil Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary
Pettey & Partrick, L.L.P. is seeking a paralegal to join our team. Our firm specializes in civil defense litigation. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated and highly motivated individual with a desire to work in litigation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Start at $55,000.00 per year but salary will be commensurate with experience.

Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Raleigh, NC 27609

Duties

• Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting investigation, legal research, and gathering relevant information.
• Manage legal documents and ensure proper filing within document management systems.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines for various legal proceedings.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.
• Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy and investigation strategy.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect ongoing cases.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures related to litigation.
• Excellent proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Paralegal Certification.
