Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support in managing civil litigation cases, ensuring smooth case progression from inception through resolution. Your expertise will help streamline legal processes, facilitate effective communication, and uphold the highest standards of legal research and documentation.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files, evidence, and legal documents
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Manage case files using document management systems like CasePeer and EvenUp to ensure accurate recordkeeping and easy retrieval
- Review and analyze documents for relevance during discovery processes; perform document review and data entry with meticulous attention to detail
- Coordinate with clients through interviewing and follow-up to gather necessary information for case development
- Maintain effective communication with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams while adhering to professional phone etiquette and organizational standards
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of civil litigation procedures in personal injury law and more
- Proven experience with legal administrative tasks such as filing, proofreading, transcription, and document management systems
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms to gather relevant case law and statutory information
- Proficiency in legal drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery documents, contracts, and reports with excellent writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently using project management techniques; excellent organizational skills are essential
- Familiarity with legal case management software like CasePeer and EvenUp for tracking case progress and billing purposes
- Demonstrated experience in interviewing clients or witnesses to obtain accurate information; strong clerical experience including data entry and file organization
- Exceptional proofreading skills ensuring accuracy in all legal documents; keen attention to detail in document review processes
- Effective communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette; ability to support executive administrative functions when needed
- Spanish-speaking a plus but not mandatory

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,304.63 per year
