Civil Litigation Paralegal

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role is primarily focused on supporting litigation matters, including disputes involving real estate, business, probate, and related issues. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the efficient handling of cases from pre-suit through trial. While litigation is the primary focus, familiarity with transactional matters in real estate, business law, estate planning, and probate is highly valued. This position offers strong potential for professional growth within a collaborative law firm setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, pleadings, discovery, mediation, trial preparation, and post-judgment enforcement.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other tools to support case strategy and analysis.
  • Manage and organize case files in Clio, ensuring deadlines, court settings, and key milestones are properly tracked.
  • Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, production, and organization of exhibits.
  • Prepare trial binders, witness lists, and exhibits; assist with hearing and trial preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties to gather information and coordinate case progress.
  • Maintain litigation calendars, including deadlines under the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and local rules.
  • Support matters involving real estate disputes, business disputes, probate litigation, and related issues.
  • Assist, as needed, with transactional overflow work (real estate, business, estate planning, probate) to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, document management, and data entry.

Skills

  • Prior paralegal experience in litigation required; experience in real estate, business, or probate-related disputes preferred.
  • Experience with Clio and Westlaw is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, including discovery, docket management, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong drafting and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Professional, client-focused demeanor with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general legal technology tools.
  • Working knowledge of real estate, business law, estate planning, and probate matters is preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
